No. A medical marijuana business may not operate until the City land use entitlement process is complete and the business has been properly permitted. The City is not currently issuing local permits to establish a medical marijuana business, but may begin to do so depending on the final outcome of the proposed medical marijuana ordinance amendments. It is anticipated amendments to current medical marijuana ordinances will likely be final in three to four months, after going through the public review process and undergoing CEQA analysis; however, there is no guarantee if or when these amendments will be adopted by the City Council.
“But Woodlake – a town of less than 8,000 people about 15 miles northeast of Visalia in Tulare County – has pushed forward at breakneck speed, going from idea to ordinance to the approval of two companies’ dispensary proposals in less than six months. City leaders hope to unlock a treasure trove of tax revenue, which can be used to beef up a thinning public service budget and attract customers to a blip on the map found well off the beaten path.” (Rory Appleton, The Fresno Bee)
The original text amendment included commercial operations open to both medical and recreational marijuana. After a tense debate from City Council and passionate testimonies from the public, City Council Member Steve Brandau motioned to revise the amendment to limit all commercial cannabis operations to that for medicinal purposes only, Garry Bredefeld seconded the motion. Council President, and co-sponsor of the amendment, Clint Olivier, declined the revision before ultimately voting ‘yes’ alongside the rest of the council.
A hybrid is a mixture of two genetically different strains of marijuana. Hybrids are created when the pollen from one strain (male) is transported (by an insect, or hand) to a flower (female) of a different strain. The plant then produces seeds which possess the genetics from both parents. Hybrids sometimes exhibit enhanced potency and hardiness as compared to their parents. An example, the strain Chemdawg is a cross of OG Kush and Sour Diesel strains.
Businesses may begin their application process with the Bureau of Cannabis Control in Sacramento so long as they have received a permit from the city they plan to operate in. Each municipality can determine their own rules and regulations as to how commercial cannabis will coexist in their communities, if at all. Cities still hold the final ruling on whether or not marijuana businesses can operate within their jurisdiction.
Since 2005, Clones Bros has been known as one of Fresno top growers of marijuana clones. Our collective provides marijuana clones with superior and verified genetics- standards you wont find at other providers. Our plants are only listed for sale after they have flowered, in order to ensure that the best characteristics are identified and the desired phenotypes are retained. To ensure that our clones are always of the highest quality, all cuts are monitored in our nursery until after they have flowered and are carefully inspected by our growers for the desired characteristics.
